Power Post Ordering Notes

To ensure you receive the correct  Power Posts  for your project we require:

1. The load requirements (supplied by engineer or truss manufacturer)
2. The size of the opening (dimension "H on the diagram)

Ardel stocks  Power Posts in 2" increments, (ex. 8'2" - 8'4", 8'4" - 8'6" etc.) These heights represent the size of opening they will fit while still allowing about 2" of adjustment either way. This means an 8'2" - 8'4"  Power Posts will bottom out at 8'0" and top out at 8'6".

  • Ardel Power Posts are certified to a maximum height of 12'0"
  • Stamped engineer drawings are available upon request

Power Posts Installation Notes

  •  Power Posts A & C require a 1-1/2" wrench to adjust
  •  Power Posts  B & D require a 1-7/8" wrench to adjust
  • The  Power Post must be within 1/2" of vertical to meet the designed carrying capacity
  • It is possible to screw the  threaded rod  out of the  Power Post so it is very important to order the right Power Post for the right size opening provide an accurate opening dimension for the Power Post 
  • The amount of exposed  threaded rod  does not affect the capacity of the post as long as it is fully threaded into the bearing nut
